About the San Andreas State Police

The San Andreas State Police (SASP), also known as the San Andreas State Troopers (SAST), is the primary state law enforcement agency of San Andreas. Troopers are responsible for enforcing state laws, maintaining public order on state highways, and responding to all public safety incidents within their jurisdiction.

SASP troopers hold primary jurisdiction over all state highways and are authorized to operate within 0.65 miles of any state highway. All interactions with civilians — whether traffic stops, criminal investigations, or welfare checks — are conducted in accordance with the agency's Standard Operating Procedures, which took effect on April 5, 2026.

Jurisdiction & Patrol Standards

SASP troopers maintain primary jurisdiction on state highways throughout San Andreas. Troopers are authorized to operate within 0.65 miles of any state highway. All patrol units must document civilian encounters through the department's Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Vehicle equipment must be kept clean and operational at all times, and all units must maintain a minimum fuel level of half a tank.
