Apr 05 2026Policy SASP Standard Operating Procedures — Effective April 5, 2026
The San Andreas State Police Standard Operating Procedures are now in effect as of April 5, 2026. All active personnel are required to be familiar with and comply with all provisions of the SOP. The SOP governs patrol procedures, use of force, vehicle pursuits, CAD documentation, K9 operations, DUI investigations, and standards of professional conduct. Patrol Procedures — Key Standards
The following patrol standards are drawn from the current SASP Standard Operating Procedures (effective April 5, 2026). All on-duty troopers are expected to follow these procedures at all times.

Panic Button Protocol
Activation of a trooper's panic button constitutes an all-hands emergency. All troopers within 4 miles of the activating unit must respond immediately and proceed to that unit's location.
Vehicle Requirements
- All patrol vehicles must be kept clean and in operational condition.
- Units must maintain a minimum of half a tank of fuel at all times.
- Vehicles must always be locked when unattended.
- Troopers must never park forward-facing in a parking stall.
CAD Documentation Requirements
All civilian encounters must be documented in CAD before the unit clears the call. This includes traffic stops, investigations, welfare checks, and any use of force incidents. The primary unit is responsible for noting in CAD that they will be taking the report.
